Echo-Screen III Pro Instructions for Use
OAE probe nozzle routine cleaning:
IMPORTANT:
Remove the probe nozzle only to troubleshoot data collection problems. After
being removed a few times, the clips no longer hold the nozzle securely in place and the nozzle
must be replaced.
1
Remove the disposable ear tip from the probe nozzle.
2
Use a prepackaged alcohol wipe or a lint-free cloth dampened (not wet) with 70% isopropyl
alcohol to wipe the grooves of the probe tip and the outside housing of the probe. Be sure
to clean the grooves from the base to the tip to avoid pushing debris back into the closed
channels at the base of the grooves.
3
Allow the probe housing and probe tip to dry thoroughly before you apply an ear tip.
OAE, ATA, and PCA cable thorough cleaning:
1
Disconnect the cable from the device.
2
Use a damp (not wet) lint-free cloth moistened with mild detergent, such as liquid
dishwashing detergent, and water diluted to the detergent manufacturer’s recommendation
to remove built up dirt and grease from the cable jacket.
3
Wipe the transducers:
•
For OAE cables, wipe the probe housing and nozzle.
IMPORTANT:
Remove the probe nozzle only to troubleshoot data collection problems. After
being removed a few times, the clips no longer hold the nozzle securely in place and the nozzle
must be replaced.
•
For ATA cables, wipe both the left and right transducer housings, avoiding the earphone
connectors.
4
Allow the cable to dry thoroughly.
5
For OAE probe cables, follow the routine cleaning protocol.
Replacing the OAE Probe Nozzle
Replace the probe nozzle when the clips that attach the nozzle to the probe housing no longer
hold the nozzle securely.
Replace the OAE probe nozzle:
1
Locate the clips on either side of the nozzle. Slip your fingernail between the clip and probe
housing and lift up the ends of the clips to release them. Gently pull the nozzle off the probe
housing.
