13.6 Setting the Key Mode Parameter
The KEY MODE parameter Mode .
The only KEY MODE parameter is Mode . On the keyboard, it is mapped to Knob 3 of the Con-
trol section in Scale Edit mode. It defines how the selected is mapped to the keys of the key-
board. This is also reflected by the Light Guide. The
KEY MODE menu consists of the following
three modes, which are described in detail below:

Mapped (default value)
▪
Easy
Mapped Mode (Default)
In Mapped mode, the notes are mapped to the keyboard according to the selected scale. Notes
outside of the selected scale are not active. Pressing the corresponding keys will trigger the
next available note in the selected scale. The Light Guide highlights the active keys via lit
LEDs. The
Root Note is indicated by a brighter lit LED.
Both sections Root Note and Scale Type describe the use of Scale on the assumption
that the KEY MODE is set to its default value Mapped.
