FIG. 1
REPLACING THE WHEEL KIT (FIGURE 1)
The wheel kit consists of the blast wheel, control cage, impeller, and the fixing screw.
To remove, complete the following steps:
1.
Remove the separator by loosening the four screws and sliding the separator away
from the blast housing.
2.
Loosen the screws (3) of the control cage fixing plate (4); remove the plate, then
the control cage.
3.
Loosen the impeller (6) by using the impeller key (7); remove it. Keep the fixing (V)
of the motor pushing down while removing the impeller.
4.
Loosen the four fixing screws (two on each side of the motor mounting plate); take
the motor out of the housing and remove the wheel.
5.
Check the wear on the wheel hub and replace if necessary.
To fit the wheel kit, complete the following steps:
1.
Clean the threat of the motor shaft; bring the wheel through the housing opening.
2.
Put the motor with the motor mounting plate against the housing and tighten the
screws.
3.
Reverse the steps for removal for reassembly.
4.
Check whether the wheel moves freely.
Every time the wheel is changed, check the thread of the motor shaft. Ensure that the
impeller is tightened carefully and that there are no dust or abrasive in the threads. After
every repair around the wheel, the wheel motor should be started without abrasive in
order to check, that the rotating parts are moving freely and that there is no vibration.
The wheel motor is a long life part. Damages on the wheel motor normally give unusual
noises or it stops completely. In this case, contact NFE.
