For connection to a PBX Multi-Line System
FaxSwitch 2
can be fitted to one specific line of a PBX type system,
(usually the last choice line) which uses conventional PSTN telephone
lines
Once fitted, the system will operate exactly as described previously, for
operation on the selected line. The same installation procedure is used
for both the Traditional and Voice Priority operating methods.
NOTE
- A small number of sites use ISDN Digital telephone lines. In this
situation,
FaxSwitch 2
cannot be fitted direct to these lines as
described below. It must instead be connected to an Analogue extension
of the Commander or PABX type system.
Installation Procedure
1. The incoming telephone line, prior to the system controller should be
connected to the TELEPHONE LINE IN port of
FaxSwitch 2
.
2. The TELEPHONE LINE OUT port of
FaxSwitch 2
should be
connected to the system controller.
3. The FAX DEVICE should then be connected to the FAX MACHINE
port of
FaxSwitch 2
. If the Fax Machine has more than 1 port, use
the LINE port.
4. CONNECT the supplied 12VAC Power Supply and switch it ON.
5. SET your FAX DEVICE to it's AUTOMATIC RECEIVE MODE. Then
SET your FAX DEVICE to ANSWER on the FEWEST RINGS possible.
If Fax/ Phone switching settings are provided on your Fax Device,
ensure that they are all DISABLED.
6. READ THIS USER GUIDE thoroughly to obtain a full understanding of
the operation of this device.
