Inserting and removing bits
Drilling.and.chiseling.bits.are.inserted.to.and.removed.from.the.
chuck.head.(1).without.a.key.
Inserting bits
Before. any. interference. to. the. tool,. disconnect. the. supply. cable.
first.
Clean.the.shank.of.the.bit.and.grease.it.slightly.
When.inserting.the.bit.into.the.chuck.head.turn.the.bit.slowly.until.
it.sets.in..Check.if.it.is.properly.fixed.in.the.chuck.head,.so.it.will.
not.fall.out.
Be careful not to damage the cover protecting the chuck head
against dust penetration (2).
Replace damaged dust cover immediately with a new one!
Removing bits
Push.the.locking.sleeve.(3).down.towards.the.body.of.the.hammer.
and.remove.the.bit.
Setting the chiseling bit
Switch.the.change.over.switch.(7).to.[rotation.off].position..Then.
you.can.turn.the.chiseling.bit.manually.and.set.it.to.any.required.
working.position.
Switch.the.rotation.switch.(7).back.to.
.position..The.chiseling.
bit. automatically. clicks. in. when. work,. that. is. chiseling,. creates.
radial.pressure.to.it.
Attention: In order to be able to switch the rotation switch (7)
you must first push the safety (8).
Quick change chuck (accessory)
The. hammer. is. supplied. with. a.quick-change. chuck. for. drilling.
in.wood,.metal.and.plastic.materials.with.drills.with.a.cylindrical.
shank.(max..clamping.diameter.13.mm)..The.chuck.is.mounted.at.
holding.spindle.of.the.hammer.(12).
Before. any. interference. to. the. tool,. disconnect. the. supply. cable.
first.
Dismounting the chuck
Push.the.locking.sleeve.(4).up.from.the.body.of.the.hammer.and.
loosen.the.chuck.from.holding.spindle.
Mounting the chuck
Clean the holding spindle first.
Push.the.locking.sleeve.(4).up.from.the.body.of.the.hammer.and.
mount.the.required.chuck.(11).or.(13).to.the.holding.spindle..Turn.
it. slightly. when. doing. so.. Then. let. the. locking. sleeve. drop. and.
check.if.the.chuck.holds.firmly.in.
Practical hints
Do.not.drill.in.places.with.possibility.of.concealed.electric.wiring,.
gas.and.water.piping..Check.the.spot,.where.you.want.to.drill.first,.
for.example.using.a.metal.detector.
To.drill.in.metal.use.only.perfectly.sharp.drill.bits,.to.drill.in.stone.
and.concrete.use.only.carbide.bits.intended.for.stone.drilling.
Adapt.rotation.to.drilled.material.and.to.the.diameter.of.used.drill.
bit.
Percussion drilling and chiseling
Use.protective.goggles.and.ear.protectors
Do.not.push.the.drilling.hammer.with.an.excessive.force..This.will.
not.result.in.higher.output.
When.chiseling,.the.best.results.can.be.obtained.if.you.cut.off.the.
material.in.small.pieces.
When.chiseling,.always.wear.protective.goggles.and.use.the.side.
handle.(10)..After.switching.the.hammer.on,.check.if.the.change.
over.switch.(7).is.secured.in.
.position.
Drilling through tiles
First,.slowly.drill.a.hole.into.the.tile..After.drilling.through,.switch.
to.percussion.drilling.
Screwing
Screwing. bits. may. be. inserted. into. the. quick-change. chuck. (11).
(accessory).
Maintenance
Before. commencing. any. maintenance,. disconnect. the. hammer.
from.power.outlet.
Keep.the.ventilating.apertures.clean.
Clean.plastic.parts.accessible.from.outside.regularly.with.a.piece.of.
cloth.without.any.cleaning.detergents.
After. using. the. drill. over. a.period. of. long. time. in. demanding.
conditions,. it. is. advisable. to. bring. the. appliance. to. a.Narex.
authorized.service.centre.for.check.up.and.thorough.cleaning.
The. appliance. is. equipped. with. self-detachable. carbons.. If. the.
carbons. are. worn. down,. the. motor. automatically. switches. off..
This.prevents.the.rotor.from.further.damage..The.carbons.may.be.
replaced.only.by.an.authorized.service.centre.
Approximately.every.100.work.hours.it.is.also.necessary.to.bring.
the. hammer. for. a.regular. period. maintenance,. which. should.
guarantee.steady.and.good.work.output.and.operating.life.
Each.regular.period.maintenance.check.consists.of.these.tasks:
•. Cleaning.of.motor.housing,.removal.of.deposits,.dirt.and.dust.
from.the.housing.
•. Cleaning.of.chucking.nub.
•. Checking.of.piston.rings.wear.and.tear.
•. Checking.the.carbons.wear.and.tear.
•. Replacement.of.grease.fillings.
•. Crosschecking.of.safety.clutch.function.
Storage
Packed. appliance. may. be. stored. in. dry,. unheated. storage. place.
with.temperature.not.lower.than.–5°C.
Unpacked. appliance. should. be. stored. only. in. dry. storage. place.
with.temperature.not.lower.than.+5°C.with.exclusion.of.all.sudden.
temperature.changes.
Rotation regulation
You.can.continuously.change.rotations.with.the.switch.(6)..Push.
the.switch.slightly.and.the.hammer.will.start.rotating.slowly..The.
stroger.you.push.at.the.switch,.the.faster.the.rotation.
Switching the direction of rotation
Use.the.switch.for.change.of.rotating.direction.(9).only.when.the.
hammer.is.at.stand.still.
Hold.the.switch.(9).from.both.sides.
To.set.direction.of.rotations.to.the.right.(9),.switch.to.“R”.position.
To.set.direction.of.rotations.to.the.left.(9),.switch.to.“L”.position.
Important! Turn the rotation switch (9) all the way to arrester
at the motor casing, until you feel it snaps.
If the position of rotation switch is between “R” and “L”, the
hammer will not switch on.
