1  Safety

This is the safety alert symbol. This symbol alerts you to potential hazards that can kill or hurt you and others. All safety

messages will follow the safety alert symbol and the word “DANGER”, “WARNING” or “CAUTION”. These words

mean:

DANGER: Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury.

WARNING: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury.

CAUTION: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury.

CAUTION used without the safety alert symbol indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may

result in property damage.

•  This manual contains important safety information and precautionary measures. It is impossible to list all potential hazards

associated with weld fume collection systems across unique applications. Proper use of the equipment should be discussed

with factory. Operating personnel should be aware of, and adhere to,the most stringent safety procedures.

•  Use this unit within the manner intended by the manufacturer. If you have questions contact the manufacturer or your

dealer.

•  Before servicing or cleaning the unit, switch power off at the control panel and lock the service disconnecting means to

prevent power from being switched on accidentally.

•  Wear protective clothing and safety glasses when operating or servicing the fume collector.

•  Use proper lifting and rigging equipment to install this equipment.

•

Electrical connections should only be made by qualified personnel.

•

Keep flammable materials and vapours, such as gasoline, away from the weld fume collector.

•

When collecting emissions from spark-producing processes, care must be taken to reduce potential  fire hazards. Experts

in the field of fire extinguishing equipment should be consulted for recommendations concerning proper fire detection and

suppression systems. Consult your insurance underwriter.

•  Read and understand all material safety data sheets applicable to the processes associated with this product operation.

•  Disconnect all power prior to servicing or maintaining the equipment.

•  The system should not be powered or operated without an extraction arm (or approved hood assembly) installed.
