Wiring examples - Y plan heating
Heating ON, DHW ON - This is similar to the prevous case, but the white liver also becomes live. This means that the
valve will move to the mid position and hot water will be supplied to both the heating and the DHW zones.
Heating ON, DHW OFF - Grey wire (Hot water off) is live, White wire (heating on) is live. The valve will move to the
heating only position. When the valve is in position the end switch will close and the orange wire will become live, this
will fire the boiler through the beridge between SL and AUX_L.
Y PLAN HEATING SOFTWARE SETTINGS
SOFTWARE SETTINGS EXPLAINED.
The software settings are the same as for the S-Plan example above. Relay
3 is dedicated to heating and Relay 2 is for domesitc hot water. Again, Relay
1 is not selected for heating or hot water because we want the boiler call
signal to come from the valve when the valve reaches its desired position.

OPTIONAL WIRING FOR Y PLANS
If your system doesn’t have a DHW sensor installed the SE1 can still control
the DHW, but without temperature control. From the app you will be able
to turn DHW generation ON/OFF, or you can set up an hourly schedule for
DHW generation. For this kind of system you will need a DHW Thermostat/
High Limit Thermostat connected between terminal T_L and T_SL. This is to
make sure that the DHW generation stops when the hot water reaches the
desired temperature. This thermostat is not only important to save energy and
prevent scalding, but also to prevent the water from boiling which can cause
overpressure in the system.
FIGURE 25. OPTIONAL WIRING FOR Y
Do not wire an immersion heater to the SE1. The relay board is not designed for such high outputs. If
you need to control an immersion heater for DHW you have to use an additional relay.
