Endpoints
The existing endpoints screen shows the registered endpoints with the Gatekeeper. The existing endpoint
parameter fields are described in the table below.
About Registration
. When an endpoint registers with the Gatekeeper, the endpoint is activated. That is, it
becomes an acknowledged participant on the network (or on a particular zone of a network). Registration tells the
Gatekeeper that the endpoint is active and ready to receive calls. An endpoint’s registration can be static
(essentially permanent) or dynamic (timed or conditional).

The endpoint type . When an endpoint attempts to
register with the Gatekeeper, the Gatekeeper
compares the endpoint type with the predefined
value. If the Gatekeeper detects a discrepancy, the
registration is not accepted. If you are not sure of
the endpoint type, select Undefined, which allows
any endpoint of any type to register with the
Gatekeeper.
(Multipoint Control Units, MCUs, are used to
facilitate conference calls.)
