4.7 Power Management Features
ACPI Standby State
This item specifies the power saving mode for ACPI function. If your operating system
supports ACPI, such as W indows 98SE, W indows ME and W indows 2000, you can
choose to enter the Standby mode in S1(POS) or S3(STR) fashion through the setting
of this field. Options are:
[S1/POS]
The S1 sleep mode is a low power state. In this state, no
system context (CPU or chipset) is lost and hardware main
tains all system context.
[S3/STR]
The S3 sleep mode is a power-down state in which power is
supplied only to essential components such as main memory
and wake-capable devices and all system context is saved to
main memory. The infor mation stored in memory will be used
to restore the PC to the previous state when an
“
wake up
”
event occurs.
[Auto]
BIOS determines the mode automatically.
Power Button Function
This feature allows users to configure the Power Button function. Settings are:
[Power Off]
The power button functions as a normal power-on/-off
