attach number

You attach a number from the phonebook or

recent calls list to prefix digits that you entered in the idle
display. See also:

add digits

auto answer

When you activate this feature, your phone

automatically answers after two rings.

automatic handsfree

Routes the phone’s sound to an

attached speakerphone. You can use this with the auto-answer
feature for hands-free phone use in your car.

automatic redial

When your wireless network cannot handle

your call, this feature enables your phone to automatically redial
for the next four minutes.

auto-PIN

A feature that lets you send your PIN (Personal

Identification Number) with the press of a button whenever
required.

backlight

The amount of light behind the characters on your

display. You can adjust this setting.

banner

The text message your phone displays when it is in the

idle state.

battery charge conservation

Some networks and phones

include a battery save setting to conserve battery power. You can
toggle this setting on or off.

block cursor

A box that indicates the current highlighted

character in a text message. After two seconds, the block cursor
reverts to a

flashing cursor

and moves to the next position. See
