Data and Fax Calls 

Notes: 

• Check your computer or hand-held device to determine the 

type of cable you need.

• To conserve power, some laptops deactivate unused serial 

ports. If this happens, open an application that uses the 
serial port, like fax or dial-up networking, and your 
computer will automatically activate the port.

Attaching a Serial Cable

Use the interchangeable head on the Motorola Multi-Connect 
Serial Cable to connect a computer, Palm III device, or Palm V 
device to your phone.
