4.3 AirTracer Application Tool
The MOTOTRBO AirTracer application tool has the ability to capture over-the-air digital radio traffic
and save the captured data into a file. The AirTracer application tool can also retrieve and save
internal error logs from MOTOTRBO radios. The saved files can be analyzed by trained Motorola
personnel to suggest improvements in system configurations or to help isolate problems.
4.4 Radio Tuning Setup
If the service kit is replaced, it does not necessarily need to be returned if it has been factory tuned.
It should however be checked for performance before being placed into service. Particular concern
is the Bias DAC, which will need to be set for the appropriate final device bias prior to keying up the
radio. If the bias is not properly set, it may be possible to cause damage to the transmitter.
NOTE: Refer to the appropriate program online help files for the tuning procedures.
A personal computer (PC), Windows 7 or Windows 8 and a tuner program are required to tune the
radio. To perform the tuning procedures, the radio must be connected to the PC and test equipment
setup as shown in Figure 4-4.
