Table 6-13 Capability summary attributes
Attribute Meaning
Product Name The name of the PTP 800 product variant.
MAC Address The MAC address of the PTP 800.
Encryption Algorithm The encryption algorithms available for use at the
wireless interface of the CMU. Encryption algorithm and
keys must be the same at BOTH ends of the link for it to
function correctly. This attribute is only displayed if the
current license key permits encryption.

Transmit Capacity Maximum transmit data rate for Ethernet frames. To
determine upgrade requirements, see
Capacity upgrades
on page 1-36 .
Using access keys to generate a new license key
PTP 800 CMUs are supplied with a factory default license key. Perform this task to
generate a new license key to activate AES encryption or to increase transmit
capacity.
Before starting this task, perform Checking capability summary on page 6-28 .
To generate a new license key, proceed as follows:
Procedure 6-11 Use an access key to generate a license key

Purchase the required new capabilities (AES encryption or increased data
rate) from the Motorola authorized point-to-point dealer who supplied the
PTP 800 link.
The dealer will supply one or more access keys.
2 Go to the PTP web support page at http://www.motorola.com/ptp/support
and select Key Generator . The PTP License Key Generator page should be
displayed.

Enter the required details, including the access keys supplied by the dealer.

Submit the web form.
The PTP License Key Generator will respond with the new license key.
