3. Using the phone
NOTE
Your handset will automatically time the duration of all
external calls. The handset display shows the call duration
both during and for a few seconds after your call.
3.1
Switch the handset power on/off
To switch off:
1.
Press and hold
R
until the display goes off.
To switch on:
1.
Press and hold
R
for 3 seconds and the display will
come back on.
3.2
Make an external call
When you make a call, the backlight on the handset display
comes on and the In Use light on the base flashes.
1.
Lift the handset and press
<
. The and
symbols
are displayed.
2.
When you hear the dialling tone, dial the number you want.
3.3
Preparatory dialling
1.
Enter the number first. If you make a mistake, press
n
to delete the last digit.
2.
Press
<
to dial.
NOTE
Press
u
to enter a pause in the dialling sequence.
You can enter a pre-dial number up to 32 digits long, Only
the last 12 digits will be displayed.

End a call

Place the handset back on the charger.

Receive a call
When you receive a call, the phone rings, the
symbol
flashes, the keypad backlight comes on and the Calls light on
the base flashes.
Call
is displayed and the

flashes to let you know if it is an external or internal call.

If your handset is on the charger and auto-answer is on:
pick up the handset to answer the call.
Or
If your handset is on the charger and auto-answer is off:
pick up the handset and press

to answer the call.

If your handset is off the charger, press
