Configuring the Analog Output
(-AO Option)
Figure 4.7 gives an overview of the Analog Output Configuration menu.
If your unit is equipped with the -AO option, use this menu for configuration.
1. Press
SELECT
at the “CONFG AOUT” display. This sends you to the “SEL AOUT”
section. Press
SELECT
and use the
UP
or
DOWN
buttons to toggle between current and
voltage. When the selection you desire is displayed, press
SELECT.
2. Once you reach the “SET DAMP” field, you may skip the damping parameter, by using the
DOWN
button to reach the next field. To set damping, proceed to Step 3.
Damping–
Output damping applies filtering to slow the response of the output so that
momentary input variations reduce output spikes. The time setting (0-30 seconds) defines
how long it takes for the output to reach 63% of the target value.
3. To set damping, press
SELECT
at the “SET DAMP” display. Use the
UP
or
DOWN
buttons to enter a value between 0 and 30 seconds; press
SELECT.
4. Press
SELECT
at “FAIL MODE” to configure the analog output response to an input
failure. Input failures are a subset of diagnostics limited to:
1) ADC Diagnostics
2) Broken Wire
3) Input Saturation
4) Configuration / Calibration Validation.
Choose from “FAIL HIGH”, “FAIL LOW” or “HOLD LAST,” then press
SELECT
. This sends
you to “EXIT AOUT”.
FAIL HIGH/FAIL LOW–
either of these options will send the analog output to a High or
Low (see Specifications table), respectively.
HOLD LAST
–
This will cause the analog output to maintain the last valid value present
before the failure.
Note:
The AO must be set to fail low if used in a safety system - please refer to section 7 for
more information
