Installation
15 Installation
Commissioning has to be done by hydraulic skilled qualified personnel.
WARNING
15.1 Installation
instructions
The radial piston pump can be installed in any position.
The specified driving direction of rotating has to be followed necessarily.
No radial and axial forces may have an impact on the drive shaft. Therefore the drive has to result
from an adjusting coupling.
All plugs on the pump have only to be removed directly before the lines are connected.
Pay attention to cleanliness during the installation.
The use of seamless tube precision according to DIN 2391 is recommended.
15.2 Suction
line
Short suction line with great bore is necessary to ensure a short response time and low noise. Avoid
sharp direction changes and tube fittings (danger of air suction and air rejection, high flow rate
resistance). Instead use curved pipes or tubes. Follow minimum allowed input pressure.
First make reduction of the suction line at the pump entrance.
If a suction filter (min. 150 mm mesh size) or a stop cock is applied, units have to be installed
underneath the fluid level.
15.3 Pressure
line
Pay attention to sufficient consistency. Check starting torque of the screws.
DANGER
15.4 Drain
line
(L)
Lay that way the housing is always filled with pressure fluid (use connection above). Lead directly in
the tank, separated from other conduction lines. The end of the line has to lie underneath the fluid
level even if the fluid level in the tank is the lowest.
Distance to suction line ought to be as high as possible. Do not arrange filter, cooler and check-valve
in the drain line. The maximum length is 3 meters.
Pressure at the drain line connection at maximum 2 bar absolute (1 bar excess pressure) for pumps
designed for open circuit. Recommended outer pipe diameter for drain lines (light construction type)
RKP19-II: 15 mm
RKP32-II and 45-II: 18 mm
RKP63-II, 80-II and 140-II: 22 mm
15.5
Flushing the housing
If the pump is long-term operating on low pressures in a regulated state (t > 15 min, p < 30 bar, Q = 0
l/min) a flushing with 4 … 6 l/min is recommended for pump size 63… 100 cm
3
/U in the purpose of
heat removal. For pump size 140 cm
3
/U this flushing is mandatory. The flushing line has to be
connected to the upper drain port.
