Der Schiebeschalter SUBWOOFER (5) muß in Posi-
tion OFF stehen.

Pegel- und Klanganpassung

Vor dem Einschalten und der Pegel- und Klangan-
passung sollte die komplette Verdrahtung des
Boosters noch einmal auf Richtigkeit überprüft
werden. Erst danach die Plusklemme der Autobat-
terie wieder anschließen.

Für eine optimale Pegelanpassung des Boosters an
das Autoradio dienen die beiden Regler LEVEL
CONTROL (3 + 6). Zur Klanganpassung sind die bei-
den Klangregler (4) BASS und TREBLE vorhanden,
die nur die Ausgänge der vorderen Kanäle (14) be-
einflussen. Die genaue Einstellung hängt von der
Anzahl der angeschlossenen Lautsprecher ab:

6.1 Vier Lautsprecher

Beim Betrieb von vier Lautsprechern erfolgt mit den
Reglern LEVEL CONTROL (3 + 6) die Pegelanpas-
sung und gleichzeitig die Balance-Einstellung zwi-
schen den vorderen und hinteren Lautsprechern.

Mit den Klangreglern (4) BASS und TREBLE kön-

nen bei Bedarf die Bässe und Höhen für die vorde-
ren Lautsprecher angehoben werden.

6.2 Drei Lautsprecher

Beim Betrieb von zwei Satellitenlautsprechern plus
einem Subwoofer erfolgt mit den Reglern LEVEL
CONTROL (3 + 6) die Pegelanpassung und gleich-
zeitig eine Lautstärkeanpassung zwischen dem Sub-
woofer und den Satellitenlautsprechern.

Mit den Klangreglern (4) BASS und TREBLE kön-

nen bei Bedarf die Bässe und Höhen für die Satelli-
tenlautsprecher angehoben werden.

6.3 Zwei Lautsprecher

Die beiden Regler LEVEL CONTROL (3 + 6) müs-
sen zur Pegelanpassung auf den gleichen Wert ein-
gestellt werden. Bei unterschiedlicher Einstellung
stimmt die Stereo-Balance mit der Balance-Einstel-
lung am Autoradio nicht mehr überein.

Die Klangregler (4) BASS und TREBLE müssen

auf 0 dB stehen, sonst gibt der rechte Lautsprecher
mehr Bässe und Höhen wieder als der linke Laut-
sprecher.

Fehlerbeseitigung

Ist nach dem Einschalten der Auto-Audioanlage kein
Ton zu hören, kann der Fehler näher lokalisiert wer-
den, indem zuerst die beiden LEDs des Boosters
(2 + 7) betrachtet werden:

7.1 Keine LED leuchtet
1) Die beiden Sicherungen (9) am Booster und die

Vorsicherung an der Autobatterie überprüfen.
Defekte Sicherungen auswechseln.

2) Das +12 V-Stromversorgungskabel sowie das

Massekabel auf korrekten Anschluß und Unter-
brechung kontrollieren.

3) Überprüfen, ob an der Anschlußklemme RMT (12)

des Bo12 V anliegt. Wenn nicht, die Lei-
tung an der Klemme RMT entfernen und kurz die
Klemmen RMT (12) und +12 V (11) überbrücken.
Schaltet der Booster jetzt ein, liegt der Fehler in
der fehlenden Steuerspannung. Den +12 V-Aus-
gang des Autoradios (bzw. den separaten Schal-
ter oder das Zündschloß) und das entsprechende
Anschlußkabel zum Booster überprüfen.

7.2 Rote LED (2) leuchtet, aber kein Ton
1) Lautsprecher, Lautsprecherleitungen und deren

korrekten Anschluß überprüfen. Besonders beim
Brückenbetrieb ist der richtige Lautsprecheran-
schluß äußerst wichtig.

2) Die Verbindungen an den Booster-Eingängen

überprüfen.

3) Autoradio-Ausgänge überprüfen.

7.3 Rote und grüne LED leuchten
Die grüne LED (7) zeigt einen Kurzschluß an den
Booster-Ausgängen, eine Überlastung oder eine
Überhitzung des Boosters an. Die Schutzschaltung
ist aktiviert. Zum Deaktivieren der Schutzschaltung
muß der Fehler behoben und der Booster min.
10 Sekunden ausgeschaltet werden.

1) Lautsprecher und Lautsprecherleitungen auf

Kurzschluß überprüfen.

2) Bei einer Überlastung Lautsprecherimpedanzen

überprüfen. Die Impedanz darf bei Brückenbe-
trieb 4

nicht unterschreiten und im 4-Kanalbe-

trieb nicht 2

3) Bei einer Überhitzung den Booster abkühlen las-

sen und besser belüften.

Level and Sound Matching

Prior to switching on and the level and sound
matching the complete wiring of the booster
should be checked once again. Only then connect
the positive terminal of the car battery again.

For an optimum level matching of the booster to the
car radio both controls LEVEL CONTROL (3 + 6) are
provided. For sound matching the controls BASS
and TREBLE (4) are provided which only influence
the outputs of the front channels (14).

The exact adjustment depends on the number of

the connected speakers:

6.1 Four speakers

With operation of four speakers with the controls
LEVEL CONTROL (3 + 6) the level matching and at
the same time the balance adjustment between the
front and rear speakers is made.

With the BASS and TREBLE controls (4) the low

and high frequencies for the front speakers may be
boosted, if requested.

6.2 Three speakers

With operation of two satellite speakers plus one
subwoofer with the controls LEVEL CONTROL
(3 + 6) the level matching and at the same time a
volume matching between the subwoofer and the
satellite speakers is made.

With the BASS and TREBLE controls (4) the low

and high frequencies for the satellite speakers may
be boosted.

6.3 Two speakers

Both controls LEVEL CONTROL (3 + 6) must be
adjusted to the same value for level matching. In
case of different adjustment the stereo balance is no
longer in accordance with the balance adjustment at
the car radio.

The BASS and TREBLE controls (4) must be set

to 0 dB, otherwise the right speaker reproduces more
low and high frequencies than the left speaker.

Troubleshooting

If no sound can be heard after switching on the car
audio system, it is easier to locate the fault while
watching at first both LEDs of the booster (2 + 7):

7.1 No LED is lighting

1) Check both fuses (9) at the booster and the addi-

tional fuse at the car battery. Replace defective
fuses.

2) Check the +12 V power supply cable as well as

the ground cable for correct connection and for
interruption.

3) Check if there is +12 V at the terminal RMT (12) of

the booster. If not, remove the cable at the termi-
nal RMT and shortly bridge the terminals RMT
(12) and +12 V (11). If the booster now switches
on, this error is due to the missing control voltage.
Check the +12 V output of the car radio (resp. the
separate switch or the ignition key lock) and the
corresponding connection cable to the booster.

7.2 Red LED (2) is lighting, but there is no sound

1) Check speakers, speaker cables, and their cor-

rect connection. Especially with bridge operation
the correct speaker connection is very important.

2) Check the connections at the booster inputs.

3) Check the car radio outputs.

7.3 Red and green LEDs are lighting
The green LED (7) shows a short-circuit at the
booster outputs, an overload, or an overheating of
the booster. The protection circuit is activated. To
deactivate the protection circuit, the fault must be
removed and the booster be switched off for at least
10 seconds.

1) Check the speakers and speaker cables for short-

circuit.

2) In case of an overload check the speaker impe-

dances. The impedance must not be below 4

with bridge operation and not below 2

Ω

with 4-

channel operation.

3) In case of an overheating let the booster cool

down and improve the ventilation.
