Applications and Accessories
In combination with up to two 2.4 GHz wireless cam-
eras, the monitor AV-600BS serves to set up a wireless
video surveillance system. As a maximum, three
cameras can be used:
2 x wireless camera, e. g. AV-600CMOS*
1 x cable-connected camera,
e. g. of the series TVCCD-...*
If no audio transmission is required, it is also possible
to use the 2.4 GHz wireless cameras of the AV-...CCD*
series for the following channels:

Setting into Operation
4.1 Placing the cameras and the monitor
Practical experience has shown that an optimum
reception is achieved when placing the cameras at a
height of minimum 1.5 to 2 m above the ground. Prior
to the final mounting, a trial run is recommended as the
transmission quality can substantially be changed by
displacing the wireless cameras and the monitor by a
few centimetres only.
4.2 Power supply
1. For using the supplied power supply unit, connect its
low-voltage plug to the jack DC 13.5V IN (11) and the
power supply unit to a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
If batteries are inserted, these are switched off.
If another 13.5 V power supply unit is used, con-
sider in any case that the positive pole is at the in-
side contact of the low voltage plug. A plug of the
dimensions 5.5/2.1 mm (outside/inside diameter)
is required.
2. For the power supply independent of the mains in-
sert ten 1.5 V batteries of C size, as shown in the
battery compartment. For this purpose remove the
cover of the battery compartment (6) on the lower
side of the unit.
If not used for a longer period (e. g. more than a
week), the batteries should be removed. Thus, the
unit will not be damaged in case the batteries
should leak.
4.3 Connecting units to the monitor
Switch off the monitor prior to making or changing any
connections. The connection possibilities are shown in
fig. 4 on page 3.
1) It is possible to either connect a video recorder for
recording or a second monitor for another surveil-
lance site to the two outputs VIDEO OUT (9) and
AUDIO OUT (10). Connect the jack VIDEO OUT to
the video input of the corresponding unit and the
jack AUDIO OUT to the audio input.
2) It is possible to either connect a video recorder for
replay or a cable-connected camera to the two
inputs VIDEO IN (7) and AUDIO IN (8). Connect the
jack VIDEO IN to the video output of the corre-
sponding unit and the jack AUDIO IN to the audio
output.
5
Operation
1) Switch on the monitor with the POWER switch (1).
The green POWER LED (2) lights up. After a short
time, the screen becomes bright.
2) Select the signal source with the selector switch
WIRE/WIRELESS (17) at the right side:
button not pressed = the monitor is set to reception
of wireless cameras; after switching-on, channel
1 is always selected; the LED WIRELESS CH.
(4) flashes once periodically.
button pressed = the signals of the jacks VIDEO IN
(7) and AUDIO IN (8) are reproduced; the LED
WIRE (3) lights up
3) If the monitor is set to wireless reception, switch to
another channel with the button SELECT (5), if
required. The selected channel is indicated by
flashing of the LED WIRELESS CH.:
1 x short flashing = channel 1
2 x short flashing = channel 2
3 x short flashing = channel 3
4 x short flashing = channel 4
However, it is also possible to switch on the four
channels automatically one after the other in a con-
tinuous way. For this purpose, press the button
AUTO SCAN (12) once. Each channel is displayed
for approx. 5 seconds.
To switch off the automatic switching, press the
button AUTO SCAN again or the button SELECT.
4) Adjust an optimum picture with the brightness con-
trol BRIGHT (14) and the control CONTRAST (15).
5) In case of vertical rolling of
the picture (see figure on the
right), adjust a steady picture
with the control V-HOLD (13).
