4.3 Commission the Docon 7
Whenever the Docon 7 is handled and used, precise knowledge and compliance with these
instructions for use is necessary. These instructions do not replace user training. The de-
vice may only be used by specialist staff.
To perform a blood donation with the Docon 7, position it below the donor. This is necessary
as the blood can only flow if there is a difference in height between the donor and the
Docon 7. The height difference should be at least 20 cm.
The donation volume is checked as a function of the weight. To achieve the stated accu-
racy, ensure that the Docon 7 is horizontal and does not wobble. Position the bag system
so that it is completely on the tray and the measurement results cannot be falsified by tubes
hanging over.
For mobile blood donations, place the upper part of the case on the floor then place the
bottom part of the case with the Docon 7 on this upper part.
When the Docon 7 is set up for the first time or when set up for mobile blood donation, the
accuracy of the weighing function should be checked by using a reference weight. For this,
place a 500 g weight in the middle of the tray. After the display stops varying, the value
shown should be between
495 g
and
505 g
. If the value shown is not within these limits,
the Docon 7 must be checked by the service team and may no longer be used for blood
donations.
Please note the following points when setting up the Docon 7:
Ensure that adequate space is maintained to other devices. The Do-
con 7 (incl. case installation height) requires a height of at least 550
mm and width of 270 mm.
It must be guaranteed that the device can be easily disconnected from
the mains (if used) by pulling the power cord.
Accessories are to be connected so that any falsification of the meas-
urement results due to cords on the tray can be ruled out.
