b) Programming the Flight Controller without Programming Card
The functions and setting options of the speed controller are indicated with sound
signals. These sound signals are generated by brief control of the connected motor.
• Switch on the transmitter. Pull the throttle lever into the full throttle position and hold it there.
• Connect the battery to the flight controller (the throttle lever is still in the „full throttle“ position).
4 double sound signals follow.
• After the described sound signals, the flight controller has entered programming mode.
Ten different functions can be selected and set.
These functions are repeated in an endless loop. The first function is provided for selection with
one beep (1x short). This sound signal is repeated 4x in sequence.
Then a switch is made to the second function, 2 beeps are emitted and repeated 4x each.
This continues in the same manner until the tenth function to then start up again with the first
one.
The available functions (and their sound signals) can be taken from the table on the
preceding page (column 1: sound signals, column 2: functions).
For a description of the functions, see the previous page as well.
• If the function you want to change is indicated by beep (e.g. 3 beeps for function 3: undervoltage
recognition), set the throttle lever at your transmitter to „motor off“. The software now switches
to the selected function and signals this with a quick melody sequence.
• There are up to nine setting options for each function (see table). These setting options are
indicated with sound signals again. Each setting is acoustically reported by repeating the
assigned signal sequence 4x in sequence (another endless loop). The number of sound
signals for each function change is indicated in the table on the previous page.
• When the correct setting is signalled by sound signal, put the throttle lever into the full throttle
position when saving these settings. The lever must be kept in this position until the speed
controller confirms successful programming by a quick melody sequence.
If you want to make additional settings, continue to keep the throttle lever in the full throttle
position. Then the following function is indicated.
• If you want to cancel/terminate programming, disconnect the battery from the flight controller.
Now the flight controller can be used with the newly programmed settings.
Operating Information
• If you connect the battery to the flight controller, a sound signal is issued to signal readiness
for operation.
If the flight controller is programmed to the battery type „NiCd/NiMH“, a short melody is issued.
However, if the battery type LiPo or LiFe is programmed, the first sound sequence indicates
the number of battery cells (e.g. 3 short beeps for a 3-cell LiPo battery). Then a short melody
is issued.
When the sound signal is completed, the flight controller is ready for operation.
• If the flight controller is not or insufficiently cooled in operation and/or permanently overloaded,
the temperature on/in the flight controller rises as well. If the temperature of 110 °C is reached,
the power is automatically reduced (overload protection).
Examine the cause of the overload in this case (cooling; strain from too-large rotor, etc.) and
remove it.
• If there is no receiver signal for the flight controller at connection (e.g. transmitter not switched
on), the motor start-up is blocked.
• The flight controller switches off the motor automatically if the receiver signal of the flight
controller fails in flight operation, e.g. due to receiver interferences or is no longer correctly
transferred.
End of Operation
• Disconnect the battery from the flight controller.
• Now switch off the transmitter.
