Pre-operation Check
<Fuel Tank Oil Level - Check>
Make sure that any accumulation of
flammables, fuel leaks, engine oil
leaks, moisture, etc. are not found
around the hot parts of the engine
(exhaust manifold) and the battery.
* They could cause a fire.
Make sure that a coolant leak from
any part of the engine is not found.
* Coolant will flow out.
Make sure that the open/close
conditions of the valves, plugs and
cocks on each line are normal.
* Otherwise, the engine may seize.
Make sure that the open/close
condition of the coolant drain cock on
the water pump is normal.
* Otherwise, insufficient cooling could occur and
it could cause serious damage to the devices.
Make sure that the engine oil leak
from any part of the engine is not
found.
* If engine oil gets in your eyes, it will cause pain
and lead to sight loss at the worst.
Before stating the engine, check the
battery and cable terminals for
corrosion. In addition, check the
connections for looseness.
* Defective contact or short circuit could cause
damage to the devices.
Be sure to perform the pre-operation
check and scheduled maintenance as
instructed in this Operation &
Maintenance Manual.
* Failure to perform the pre-operation check and
scheduled maintenance may cause various
engine problems and breakage to parts, which
may result in serious accidents.
Before starting the engine, make sure
the protective covers of the engine
are correctly installed.
* If you are caught in rotating parts, you could be
seriously injured.
When discarding a waste cloth used
to wipe off combustible material, put
it into a lidded can and obey the
Waste Management and Public
Cleansing Act to handle it as a special
industrial waste.
* It may cause a fire.
* It could lead to environmental pollution.
* If you violate rules, you may be subject to
penalties.
Before handling fuel, remove static
electricity.
* Otherwise, the fuel could be ignited.
* Ground the fuel tank.
Do not remove the strainer while
filling the fuel tank.
* Otherwise, foreign particles could enter and
cause damage to the fuel pump.
