Starting and Stopping Methods
Twist inhibit wires and separate them from other power-
carrying wires or sources of electrical noise. Use shielded
cable if the inhibit wires are longer than 18 in. (46 cm). If
shielded cable is used, ground only one end of the shield to
earth ground. Do not ground both ends of the shield.
Coast to a stop
To coast the motor to a stop without
removing power to the drive, jumper
INHIBIT–RUN terminals 1 and 2
(see Figure 14, page 25). To restart
the motor, jumper INHIBIT–RUN
terminals 2 and 3. A single-pole,
double-throw switch may be used as
a COAST/RUN switch (see Figure
15, page 25).
Each drive is assembled with
INHIBIT–RUN terminals 2 and 3
jumpered. These terminals must
be connected for the motor to run.
