4.3
Electronics, Ground Connection, Earthing
The sensor housings are connected to signal ground and supply ground. Mounting the sensor in a metal
holder establishes a sufficient ground connection. If the target is small and isolated from earth it is
advantageous for the measuring process to connect the target to the controller housing.
4.4
Signal Output
Signal output is through the connector DIN 41612 series C on the controller.
5.
Operation
5.1
Starting Up
After the complete measuring system has been assembled according to the instructions in chap. 4 the
following points should be checked again.
- Are all the modules plugged into the right slots?
- Are all the sensors and cables fixed tight?
5.2
Zero Point and Gain
The gain and zero point of each measuring channel are adjusted
with the
gain
and
zero
trimmer potentiometers (see fig. 2.2).
The setting range is approx. 10 turns per potentiometer. The end
settings at the left and right stops are recognizable by a slight
click.
i
IMPORTANT!
Allow the measuring
system to warm up
for about one minute
before the first
measurement or
calibration.
