Before the first use clean the baking surface with a damp cloth and some washing-up liquid.
Turn the thermostat on the highest setting. The waffle maker should be preheated for approx.
3-5 minutes with closed lid to remove the typically smell of new appliances.

•
First prepare your favourite waffle dough as described in “Waffle Recipes” or choose
your own recipes.
•
Before using for the first time grease the baking surface slightly.
•
Plug in and let the appliance heat up - the red pilot light is illuminated. Preheat the
waffle maker for about 3-5 minutes with closed lid. The baking temperature is reached
when the green lamp switches on and the red light will turn off.
•
You can choose different temperature levels from 1 to 6.
•
Level 1 is for minimum temperature.
•
Low temperature (to keep warm) you can reach with level 1 or 2.
•
With the medium temperature levels 3 and 4 you can bake bright and soft waffles.
•
For golden brown waffles use temperature level 5.
•
Darker waffles you get with temperature level 6.
•
Because the temperature regulator is stepless, you can choose any position between
the levels 1 to 6 also.
•
Please note that according to the kind and consistency of your dough the results named
above can vary.
•
Fill some dough into the middle of the bottom mould. Do not take too much dough to
avoid overflow. Close the lid and press down gently to help spread the dough. Filling
needs to be done quickly, to ensure that your waffles are evenly brown.
•
When baking process is finished remove the waffle immediately. Please take wooden
spatula only to remove the waffles. Never take sharp or metallic objects to avoid
scratches on the non stick coated surface of the baking plates.
•
Check the level of browning and adjust the baking time if necessary.
Important: After baking waffles is finished always unplug the appliance to switch off!

Belgian style waffles
Ingredients: 80g butter, 100 g sugar, 1
package of vanilla sugar, 3
eggs, 3/8 l milk,
300g plain flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 tablespoon rum (optionally)
Preparation: Gently mix butter with sugar, vanilla sugar and eggs gradually adding
other ingredients. Finally add rum. The waffle mixture should be fairly thick but fluid
enough to drop off a spoon. Bake as advised and remove the waffle as soon as it is
done, using a wooden fork or something similar. Place the waffle on a wire rack.
Before serving dust the waffle with icing sugar.
