ded by a course-correcting brake application
back into your lane.
You are warned by vibration pulses in the steer‐
ing wheel in the following circumstances:
R
Active Lane Keeping Assist detects a lane
marking.
R
A front wheel drives over this lane marking.
You will also be guided back into your lane by
means of a course-correcting brake application
if the following conditions are met:
R
Active Lane Keeping Assist detects lane
markings on both edges of the lane.
R
A front wheel drives over a solid lane mark‐
ing.
You can activate or deactivate the Active Lane
Keeping Assist warning.
Whether a warning is issued and when this
occurs also depends on the selected sensitivity
setting (standard or adaptive).
Active Lane Keeping Assist can neither reduce
the risk of an accident if you fail to adapt your
driving style nor override the laws of physics. It
cannot take into account road, weather or traffic
conditions. Active Lane Keeping Assist is only an
aid. You are responsible for the distance to the
vehicle in front, for vehicle speed, for braking in
good time and for staying in your lane.
Active Lane Keeping Assist is available in the
speed range between 37 mph (60 km/h) and
124 mph (200 km/h).
If a lane-correcting brake application occurs, dis‐
play

appears in the multifunction display.
