Introduction to CITAN, Model Series 415

ECO start/stop function

The ECO start/stop function is available for diesel and gasoline engines. If the voltage of the battery is too low
or the outside temperature is too low, the ECO start/stop function is automatically deactivated.

Requirements for automatic engine shutoff (with
manual transmission):

• Clutch pedal not depressed
• Gearshift lever in idle/neutral position
• The vehicle has exceeded a speed of approx. 5

km/h at least once or the distance from the last
stop exceeds a certain threshold

• Maneuvering not detected
• Vehicle speed below 4 km/h
• ECO start/stop function active i.e. not deactivated

by driver using corresponding button

• Engine hood closed

The engine restarts automatically when one of the
following conditions is fulfilled:

• The clutch is depressed without a gear engaged
• With a gear engaged (engine off), the clutch is fully

depressed

• ECO off start/stop button is deactivated by driver
