7 Instrument panel side outlets
Tempmatic Climate Control System
The engine must be running for
the climate control system to work.
1 Temperature selector
2 Air distribution control push buttons
(press only one button at a time)
0 = Defrost
0 = Defog
0 = Heating and cooling
0 = Normal heating
g = Normal cooling or fresh air
ventilation
0 = No fresh air supplied
3 Air conditioning mode control
£ 3 = Dehumidifying
□ = Normal setting
H I = Recirculation air (red
indicator lamp in the button comes
on. The button returns to initial
position).
If buttons £ 1 and Q are not
depressed, the air conditioning
compressor is switched off.

The button symbols light up when the
vehicle’s headlamps are turned on (not
with parking lamps). The symbol is
brighter when depressed.
Close all windows and the sliding roof
to ensure proper operation of the sys­
tem. Air outlet temperature is control­
led automatically.
Note:
The air conditioner removes consider­
able moisture from the air during oper­
ation. It is normal if water drips on the
ground from the underbody.
