3. Do not use water when sharpening.

Air filter
Check that the air filter is clean and in good
condition.
1. Undo the screw holding the cover over the
air filter.
2. Remove the cover and check the air filter.
3. Clean the air filter with water and washing-
up liquid, or non flammable solvent.
4. Allow the air filter to dry.
5. Replace the air filter.
6. Replace the cover over the air filter and
tighten the screw.

WARNING!
• Do not clean the air filter with petrol or
flammable solvent – risk of fire and/or
explosion.
• Only use water and washing-up liquid, or
non flammable solvent, to clean the
hedge trimmer.
• Never use the hedge trimmer without the
air filter.
Spark plug
The spark plug must be clean and have the right
electrode gap for the engine to work properly.
1. Remove the spark plug cover.
2. Remove the cap.
3. Remove any dirt from the base of the spark
plug.
4. Unscrew the spark plug with the supplied
spanner.
5. Check the spark plug. Remove any deposits
from the spark plug.
6. Check whether the tip of the spark plug is
discoloured. The normal colour is light brown.
7. Check the electrode gap. It should be
0.6–0.7 mm.

8. Carefully screw back the spark plug by
hand.
9. When it seats, tighten with the spark plug
spanner.
10. Replace the cap on the spark plug.
11. Replace the spark plug cover.
Lubricating the gearbox
Lubricate the gearbox every 10 to 20 operating
hours. Put the grease gun onto the zerk
fitting. Force some grease into the zerk fitting
lubricating the gearbox .
Cleaning
• Clean the hedge trimmer with a cloth. Do
not rinse the hedge trimmer with water,
this can damage the internal parts.
• Do not use strong detergent or solvents
that contain benzene, trichloroethylene,
chloride or ammonia. This can damage the
plastic parts on the hedge trimmer.
• Keep the ventilation openings on the hedge
trimmer clean to prevent the engine
overheating. Cleaning with a soft brush and
compressed air usually produces a
satisfactory result.
• Wear safety glasses when cleaning.
• Remove any plant residue from the blades
after use.
• Lubricate the bar with an anti-rust lubricant
after cutting.
Transport
Use the original packaging or other suitable
protection during transport. Empty the fuel tank
