When hashing an image or media, it is possible to use all the functionalities available in the device.
The process will run in the background. When it finishes, the appropriate message will be displayed.
Disk hashing with marker
The function of hash calculating of the disk with the “tag” works identically as the process described
on pages 35-36 of this manual. The difference is that in case of calculating a checksum, a copy of a
disk with the tag will be calculated to the marker that was set during the coping process. After
calculating the checksums from the source and the target disk, the checksums will match. In a
normal (without marker) process of calculating the source disk hash, the checksum is calculated
from the entire surface of the medium.
To calculate a checksum from a disk on which we put the marker, during the process calculation of
the checksum, select an option "Mediaimager marker" (the following option will be automatically
available if such marker is detected):
The above functionality is applicable in some countries and therefore has been made available in the
Mediaimager.
