Using the built-in pressure
system guide card:
Step 1: Locate the built-in
pressure system guide card in
your packaging.
Step 2: Identify the appropriate
edge of the card and pressure
scale. The edge of the card is
determined by ankle
circumference. It is
recommended that the correct
edge and scale be highlighted.
Step 3: Starting with the
bottom band, line up the
vertical line on the card with
one of the BPS lines on the
bottom band.
Step 4: Note where the second
BPS line lines up with the
card´s compression ranges
(6a)
.
Step 5: If the BPS line on the
garment either falls short
(6b)
or goes beyond the correct
compression range
(6c)
,
readjust the band as necessary
so that the second BPS line on
the garment is aligned with the
prescribed compression range
(6a)
. Completely loosen the
band before reapplying it if too
much tension has been applied.
Step 6: Repeat the steps 3 - 5 for
each band going up the leg. Be
sure to adjust all bands to the
same tension to ensure
graduated compression
compression. Bands
may need adjusting throughout
the day to maintain the
prescribed compression range
Follow-up visits
Remind the patient to bring the
entire circaid juxtacures
system to every follow-up
appointment for proper
adjustment. At every follow-up
visit with the patient, the
circaid juxtacures should be
checked for necessary
adjustments.
Reduction of the leg
circumferences:
Should the patient reduce
significantly, ankle and calf
circumference measurements
can be re-taken and the
garment can be adjusted to the
patient’s new size by resetting
the spine per steps 1 - 5.
Once the device has been
properly adjusted, re-apply the
legging to the patient’s limb. Be
sure to also check whether or
not the patient should be using
a different edge of the BPS-card
as the appropriate range on the
card may have changed. Make
the appropriate adjustments, if
necessary.
Tip
Once the patient’s ulcer has
healed, circaid juxtalite and
mediven round-knitted
stockings are available for order
to prevent ulcer recurrence.
