8) Stand fails load test:
i.
Check that all the bolts securing the columns and crosshead assembly have been
correctly tightened and that the motor mounting bolts are tight.
ii.
Check
the ballscrew locking nut hasn’t been over tightened. Retighten locking nut,
back-off ½ a turn for a 1d or 1/3 of a turn for a 2.5d
iii.
If all of the above are ok then replace the motor.
9) Stand fails speed test:
i.
Check that the stand has been correctly set up. i.e. as a 1 or 2.5 D.
ii.
Check that the tachometer is correctly positioned on top of the ballscrew.
iii.
Using a D.V.M check that the motor is being supplied voltage.
iv.
Check that the motor tachometer loom has been correctly fitted to the motor and
the VIC board.
v.
If all of the above are ok then replace the motor.
10) Stand resets itself. (Switches on and off).
i.
Check output from the mains inlet filter is constant.
ii.
Check output from transformer is correct 24-28V AC
iii.
Check DV 20 way front panel loom (353-232) is correctly wired between the front
panel and DISPLAY (PL2) on the VIC board.
iv.
Check continuity of looms using a D.V.M.
v.
If all of the above are ok then replace the front panel or VIC board
11) Stand times-out / Cross-head only travels a short distance.
If the VIC board does not receive feedback or if the feedback is incorrect, the
crosshead will travel a short distance and then stop.
i.
Check motor encoder loom (352-
191-V01) is connected between
the motor and
TACHO
(X4) on the
VIC board.
ii.
Check the crimps are good and
the continuity of loom using a
D.V.M.
iii.
Try another motor encoder loom
(352-191-V01).
iv.
If all of the above are ok then
replace the VIC board.
