Call Progress Tones
Call Progress Tones (CPT) are audible tones sent from switching systems such as PSTN or PBX to calling parties
to show the status of phone calls, like dial tone, error tone, busy line, etc. Each tone has a distinctive tone
frequency and cadence assigned to it, for which some standards have been established.
CPT standards for various tones are applied differently in different situations or countries. Also, most tone
standards vary with the country of application. For example, as per ITU standard, the Dial Tone for India consists of
400Hz modulated by 25Hz, whereas it is 350+440Hz, without modulation, for USA/Canada.
SIMADO GFXD1111S supports following types of Call Progress Tones:
Dial Tone:
GFXD1111S plays dial tone
1.
When FXS port goes Off-Hook.
2.
When there is an incoming call on the Mobile Port in Mobile-FXO mode and Mobile Port-Routing Type is
set to 'Dial and Connect'.
3.
When there is an incoming call on the FXO Port in Mobile-FXO mode and FXO Port-Routing Type is set to
'Dial and Connect' etc.
Busy Tone:
GFXD1111S plays busy tone
1.
When there is an incoming call on FXO Port and FXO Port is found busy.
2.
When there is an incoming call on Mobile Port and Mobile Port is found busy etc.
Error Tone:
GFXD1111S plays error tone
1.
When user execute some invalid operation or try to access denied features.
2.
When an invalid command is entered in programming mode.
3.
When user is dialing a number on a port and an incoming call lands on it.
4.
When the system is configured in Mobile-FXO Mode and an incoming call on Mobile Port is dialed out on
FXO Port but FXO Port is disabled.
5.
When the system is configured in Mobile-FXO Mode and an incoming call on FXO Port is dialed out on
Mobile Port but Mobile Port is disabled etc.
Programming Tone:
GFXD1111S plays programming tone
1.
When the user is in programming mode and is waiting for the SE/SA to enter the programming command.
Confirmation Tone:
GFXD1111S plays confirmation tone
1.
When the SIMADO GFXD1111S successfully execute a feature command/ programming command issued
by the user. This tone remains for 3 seconds in the programming mode. In the feature access mode it
remains for 3 seconds and after that, user gets error tone, till the user goes ON-Hook. For All Countries,
Confirmation Tone is 400Hz, 0.1 on 0.1 off.
Ring Back Tone:
GFXD1111S plays ring back tone

When user out dials the destination number of the remote device and if that number is free, the user will
get Ring Back Tone (RBT). The cadence and frequency for different countries are as per Table.
Above mentioned tones are country specific and SE can program Call Progress Tones specific to the country of
installation. SIMADO GFXD1111S will play tones as per the country selected. Frequency and Cadence of the tones
are not programmable.
How to Program?
Call Progress Tones for specific country can be programmed from SE mode only.
