3. Note: In the event of falling over an edge, there is a risk of injury during the
harnessing action as a result of the falling person crashing into structural members
and/or structural parts.
4. Special rescue measures should be defined and exercised in the event of falling over
the edge.
Also authorised for horizontal application in case of
Edge radius r = 0.5 mm without burr, where the angle of the
edge implementation must be at least 90° degrees.

For the installation, the Karabiner hooks of the HA 4 are to be fixed in the limit-stop
lugs of the individual fastening points and the interlocking of the Karabiner hook used
must be closed. The fastening points are to be checked for integrity in this case.

Caution:
Non-interlocked Karabiner hooks can loosen unintentionally from the fastening point!
The HA 4 is then tightened manually on the pre-stressing element such that the rope does
not sag appreciably between the fastening points, i.e. tighten the rope securely or by hand.
Then the Karabiner hook of the lanyard or the fall arrester can be fixed into the rope. The
shortest possible adjustment of the lanyard is to be selected in this case, so that a fall is
avoided right from the beginning.

Caution:
With use as a restraining system with an adjustable holding rope (e.g. Masi MA 4), the
holding rope may be adjusted only so long that the person to be secured cannot reach
areas with danger of falling. The deflection of the flexible anchor line in this case
under loading by the holding rope e.g. while the person is reclining, is to be
considered. Before starting work, the deflection is to be determined from a safe
standing position.
To do this, apply a load to the installed flexible anchor line of the retention system in
the middle of the area (in the direction of strain) with approx. 300 N (ca. 30 KG). The
deflection should be measured. In the case of 2 users, the load should be doubled.
Important: No more than -5- fastening points may be connected with a flexible anchor line.
The flexible anchor line may be connected only straight and around a corner with max. 90°.
No more than the number of persons designated above under Load Carrying Capacity may
be fixed with their personal protective equipment against fall from a height.
After use, the horizontal flexible anchor line HA 4 is to be detached again and stowed in the
container provided for that.
It is important for safety that, after stressing by a fall from a height or in the determination
of damage, no further use is implemented until after the approval of an expert.
Repairs to the horizontal flexible anchor line HA 4 may be carried out by the manufacturer
only. The HA 4 is to be tested by competent professionals as required, however at least once
every 12 months.

Caution:
Only the original parts may be employed!

We recommend an identification of the anchor device with the date of the next
inspection.
Compatibility
The HA 4 may be employed only for the protection of persons against fall from a height. In
addition, the following component parts according to EN 363 are to be used for this purpose:
* A full body harness according to EN 361
* Lanyard with integrated tear-open/fall arrester according to EN 355/EN 354 - edge-
tested, or
* accompanying fall arrester EN 353-2 of MAS GmbH - edge checked
or alternatively a
* Restraint system in accordance with EN 358
The restraint system/lanyard according to EN 358 should be provided with a length
adjustment. The opening of the Karabiner hook must be more than 17 mm. The directions for
use relating to the respective component parts are to be considered.
In the case of the used products in a fall arrest system, the necessary clearance height
below the user, the permissible stressing by sharp edges and the maximum utilisation length
in a restraint system are to be considered.
The attachment-change of an own rope protection may be implemented only in a secured
area, alternatively a twin fastenings is to be used where a lanyard line section is always
attached on the horizontal flexible anchor line.

Other fall arrest systems are not planned in this application (height safety units are
excluded).

Karabiner hook: Optionally aluminium or zinc-coated steel
