Connection
Using a 21-pin SCART cable (in cluded), connect the

jack on the player to a TV or monitor to
achieve audio and video with a single connection.
• In addition to making physical connections to your TV or
monitor, it is also necessary to set the video output format
to composite video, S-video, or RGB in the Setup screen

System Control Connections
CONNECTIONS
By connecting this DVD player to another Marantz audio
component using a supplied Remote control cord, you can
remotely operate the components as a single system.
• When connecting to component with a remote sensor
(such as the SR-14, SR-18, SR-19, SR2100, PS2100), be
sure to connect the “REMOTE CONTROL IN” jack of this
DVD player to the “REMOTE CONTROL OUT” jack of the
component with the remote sensor.
• When connecting to component which is not equipped with
a remote sensor, be sure to connect the component to the
“REMOTE CONTROL OUT” jack of this DVD player.

When using this DVD player independently, set this
switch to “INTERNAL”.

EXTERNAL MODE

When using this DVD player in a system with a Marantz
tuner or timer equipped with a remote sensor, set the
switch to “EXTERNAL.

Synchronized power on and off
Connect with the remote control output jack of a
component (such as the SR-14, SR-18, SR-19) which is
compatible with Marantz remote control system. The
remote control allows to switch the power of this DVD
player to “POWER ON and Standby mode”.
Note
be sure to leave power switch on the Front panel in the
power mode.

SYSTEM MODE
For details, refer to the User Guide of the PS2100 or SR2100.
When connecting this DVD player with any other New Slim
Line Receiver (PS2100 or SR2100) using the remote control
cable, set this switch to "SYSTEM." This makes it possible to
do the following.

Control this DVD player by the remote control of the
New Slim Line Receiver (PS2100 or SR2100).
Note:
Use this combination of components with the power
switch turned on. If the "SYSTEM BUS ERROR"
message is displayed when this combination of
components is used, re-check the remote control switch
setting and connecting cables.

Control the whole system using this DVD player's
standby ON/OFF function.

Control this DVD player's PLAY and STOP modes from
the New Slim Line Receiver.
For further details, refer to the User Guide of the PS2100
or SR2100.

Switch the New Slim Line Receiver's input selector to
DVD by pressing this DVD player's play key.

Automatically switch this DVD player’s output (5.1
channels or 2 channels) to match the New Slim Line
Receiver’s surround mode. (PS2100 only)

Switch this DVD player's output to 2-channel playback
when the headphones facility of the New Slim Line
Receiver (PS2100 or SR2100) is used.
