Taking oil samples

The hose end (

) is connected to the cylinder

(

The hose end (

) is in receptacle (

•

Start the engine.

•

Allow 2 litres (0.5 gal) of oil to flow into the
receptacle.

•

Switch off the engine and put the hose end
(

) into the sample container (

•

Start the engine.

•

Allow 0.3 litres (0.08 gal) of oil to flow into
the sample container.

•

Switch off the engine.

•

Put the hose end back into the receptacle.

•

Seal the sample container.

Disconnecting
the hose

•

Disconnect the hose (

) – the gauge port (

) closes.

•

Close the gauge port with the cap.

•

Allow the oil to flow out of the hose into the receptacle (

•

Close the hose ends with the caps (

Remove the receptacle and properly dispose of the oil.

•

Fasten the cover (
