Please take some time to carefully read these instructions before using your Steriliser for the first time. This appliance is only
intended for personal use in the home. Please follow these instructions.
General notes on how the Steriliser works:
This Steriliser is able to sterilise up to 7 wide-neck bottles or
9 standard baby bottles or drinking cups
. Any combination of wi-
de-neck and standard baby bottles is also possible. The upper basket can be used to wash
accessories, such as bottle teats,
teat rings, sealing discs or soothers
on the top rack of your dishwasher. After washing, you can simply place the basket on
the unit to sterilise the items. Along with bottles, cups and bottle accessories, you can effectively and safely sterilise all other
boil-proof products in this hot steam Steriliser (please also read the respective instruction manuals for each product). Sterilising
kills disease-causing germs, which a nursing infant cannot yet fight effectively. After cooling, the sterilised items can be used
again immediately. The Steriliser works automatically with hot steam and without any added chemicals, sterilising both quickly
and effectively. In the process, the added water is heated by a hotplate underneath the unit to approx. 95 - 97°C, and little by little
it becomes steam. The steam reaches all surfaces of the items and sterilises them. Once all the water has become steam, the
appliance switches itself off automatically. Through the steam’s residual heat, the sterilising process continues for several minutes
more. Provided the upper basket is left on the unit and the lid remains unopened, all items in the Steriliser will remain sterile for up
to 3 hours. As soon as the lid is opened or the upper basket is taken off, the items will come into contact with air-borne germs.
By adding the minimum amount of water that the Steriliser requires to operate effectively, only a small amount of electricity will
be needed for the heating process.
General information about sterilising - laboratory-tested:
In the first few months, a baby’s digestive system still reacts very sensitively, therefore hygiene is of particular focus when prepa-
ring nourishment for your baby. Germ-free bottles and teats are a fundamental, basic requirement. Even the smallest residues
of baby milk can easily lead to a build up of harmful bacteria. For that reason, doctors and midwives recommend thoroughly
cleaning and sterilising all feeding utensils during the first 6-12 months. The effectiveness of MAM Sterilisers has been tested in
laboratories. During a 6 minute cycle, the steam temperature inside the Steriliser reaches approx. 96°C, which is essential for
killing disease-causing germs and viruses that are potentially harmful to your baby.
