MALCO XTRAX™
MODEL 1200
XTRACTOR
QUICK SET UP STEPS
Hook up hoses and tools to be used. Attach power cord to the machine and secure
together with cord lock provided. Plug into a 20-amp 110 volt outlet.
Fill Solution Tank with clean – preferably hot (120
°
F or 50
°
C) – tap water premixed
with your carpet or upholstery cleaner. Alternatively, you can fill the Solution Tank,
turn on the Pre-Heater, and add cleaner when the water in the Solution Tank
reaches the correct temperature. Powdered cleaners, such as Malco Xtrax™ Dry,
can be added directly to hot water; allow approximately one minute for the powder
to dissolve before turning on Pump.
Tightly secure the vacuum dome lid. The dome-shaped lid
must
be in place and
tight for the vacuum of your Xtrax™ machine to operate properly.
When the Pre-Heat Light turns off, move the switch to the Clean position and turn on
Pump and check solution flow from tool.
To heat wand and hose, recirculate cleaning solution by holding wand over Solution
Tank and spraying into tank.
Select either Single Vac or Dual Vac setting.
Proceed to clean. When cleaning, a defoamer should always be used to prevent
foam from being sucked through the vacuums. While Malco Xtrax™ Liquid and Dry
Carpet and Upholstery Cleaners are low-foam some shampoos leave detergent
behind after cleaning. This residual shampoo can cause severe foaming in the
recovery tank, which can be sucked into the vacuums resulting potentially in
damaging the machine. As a result, it is good procedure to always add defoamer
to the Recovery Tank.
Always empty the Recovery Tank each time that you fill the Solution Tank.
When you are done cleaning, first empty the Recovery Tank. Then attach the
Empty-Out Nozzle provided with your Xtrax™ Model 1200 in place of the carpet
wand or upholstery tool on your solution line. Turn on pump to discharge the
solution remaining in the clean Solution Tank. It is not necessary to have vacuum lid
in place while emptying machine in this way. You may use this solution to rinse your
Recovery Tank or you can pump the remaining solution directly into a bucket or
waste receptacle. Rinse Solution Tank and pump the rinse water into the Recovery
Tank. Drain the Recovery Tank. A small amount of solution will probably be
remaining in the Solution Tank. This small amount of solution may be vacuumed out;
however, the Recovery Tank should be empty and the Recovery Tank Dome-shaped
lid should be in place.
