Finishing
A. Finishing Material
Refer to Sections 1.B. and Sections 1.C. for combustible/
non-combustible materials. Refer to Figure 7.1 for non-
combustible zone.
WARNING!
Risk of Fire!
You must maintain clear-
ances.
• Do NOT cover metal fireplace front with combustible
materials.
• Install combustible materials only to specified
clearances on top front and side edges.
• Complete framing and apply drywall over framing.
• A bead of 300-deg F minimum non-combustible sealant
must be used to close off any gaps at the top and sides
between the fireplace and drywall to prevent cold air
leaks.
• Only non-combustible materials may be used to cover
the metal fireplace front.
Metal strips are placed 2 in. (51 mm)
under the front of the fireplace and must
extend beyond the front and sides of
fireplace opening by 2 in. (51 mm)
