Step 8.
Educate the Homeowner
Complete and attach the
Next Service Date
sticker on the access cover with a date
approximately
12 months
from the install date for both the UV-C bulbs and the AC/PP purifier.
Warn the homeowner to never take the unit out of the duct work without first turning
the
power switch off
.
Explain that all service must be performed by a licensed HVAC
professional or the
warranty will be voided
.
Explain the danger of looking at the light emitted from the Qwik
Pure
TripleGuard
™ unit.
Show the homeowner the
GREEN LED
and
ORANGE LED
s, and explain that the LEDs
should be checked periodically, ideally with every air filter change or at least a few times
a year.
Explain that they need to call for service if any of these lights are off
.
Replacing the Activated Carbon/Potassium Permanganate
(AC/PP) Purifier
This final stage of air purification should be changed annually.
Step 1.
Check the status of the LED indicator lamps
Verify the unit is properly operating by verifying the
GREEN LED
and two
ORANGE LED
s
are illuminated.
If the
GREEN LED
is not illuminated, there is either no electrical power being supplied to
the unit (check the fuses), or the electronics control module unit has failed and must be
replaced. No serviceable electrical components are within the Qwik
Pure
TripleGuard
™
unit’s electronic control module. If power to the unit has been verified and the
GREEN
LED
is not illuminated, contact Mainstream Engineering for replacement parts
1-800-
866-3550
or
1-321-631-3550
.
If one or both of the
ORANGE LED
s are not illuminated and the
GREEN LED
is illuminated,
one or both of the bulbs have failed and
BOTH bulbs should be replaced
. Even if only a
single bulb has failed,
always replace both bulbs
. The life of each bulb is very similar and the
remaining bulb is likely to fail soon. Replacing both bulbs at the same time helps you avoid
unnecessary call-backs. Replacement bulbs are sold as a set, order part number QT2732.
Step 2.
Turn power off
Using the switch on the Qwik
Pure
TripleGuard
™ turn the power
off
.
All LEDs should
go off
.
Step 3.
Remove the AC/PP access plate by removing
the six machine screws with a Philips screwdriver.
