The diopter adjustment consists of compensating for
observer’s left and right eye vision.
1. Look into the right eyepiece lens with your right eye
and focus the specimen by rotating the coarse focus
adjustment knob and/or fine focus adjustment knob.
2. Look into the left eyepiece lens with your left eye and
rotate the diopter adjustment ring • alone to focus on
the specimen.
Now vision for both eyes has been compensated for.

The condenser is usually used in the highest position. If
the entire observed field of view is not bright enough,
brightness may be improved by lowering the condenser
slightly.
1. Move the condenser to the highest position by rotating
the condenser up-down movement knob . (Fig. 21)
