1-5. Functional Safety
Th is product is a functional safety rotary magnescale which is compliant with EN 61800-5-2:2016 /
IEC 61508:2010 / IEC 62061:2005 SC3 SIL 2 and EN ISO 13849-1:2015 Cat.3 PL d.
Behavior of the product when anomalies arise : Th e product shift s to a safe state within 5 ms when
dangerous faults are detected.
Dangerous fault : An error position information which is over ±1.76 degrees

Safe state : Th e product shuts down position information communication with a
controller and shift s to a safe state.

fault value in terms of functional safety and is not the accuracy of the product. As for the accuracy
of the product, see Section 9. “Specifications.”
Th e product is maintenance-free and it is not necessary to replace the parts periodically.
