Once all outputs are set, the operator would save it by pressing the SAVE CHANGES button as shown below
in Figure 3-41, located on the right side of the screen. With this recipe still highlighted, the operator or
supervisor would push the GO TO MAIN button, and that recipe would be loaded to the active recipe in the
main screen. Then, if the part is set up to be magnetized, the operator could push the mag button to initiate a
mag shot, and the recipe loaded would be utilized.
If a recipe needs editing, the operator would select the recipe first using the up and down arrows, and once
that recipe if highlighted, would select it by pushing the SELECT RECIPE button shown below. Then, the
operator would push the EDIT RECIPE button, whic
h will change to state “EDIT ENABLED,” and start flashing.
The necessary changes would then be made regarding outputs being on or off, mag and demag power, as well
as mag shot time. Once complete, the operator would push the SAVE CHANGES button. The GO TO MAIN
button would then be pushed, and if this recipe was still highlighted, it would now be reflected as the active
recipe on the main screen.
If the operator was processing a part in manual mode, and wanted to use those settings in a recipe, the
operator can push the TRANSFER CURRENT MANUAL SETTINGS TO HIGHLIGHTED RECEIPE button, and
this would move the parameters currently set-up in manual mode directly in to the recipe that is selected on the
screen. Then, with this recipe still highlighted, the GO TO MAIN button would be pushed, and this recipe
would now be the active recipe on the main screen.

Then, with the part connected to the cables and clamps, the operator would push the Mag button located on
the control panel to initiate a mag shot. After inspection, the operator would push the DEMAG button on the
touch screen to demagnetize the part. As described earlier, the operator would then select pass or fail, as well
as confirm the part is demagnetized using a calibrated field indicator, before disconnecting the cables and
clamps, and moving the part to the next area, and getting the next part to inspect.
