4.3 Clamping of milling cutters
(see Fig. 1)
Placing the machine onto the motor cover makes
handling during a milling cutter change easier.
The machine is as a standard equipped with a
precision collect Ø 8 mm / 5/16 in. (Ø ¼” for CH / GB
model). It is possible to fasten milling cutters with
corresponding shaft diameter in this collet.
It is imperative to pull the power
plug before replacing the milling
cutter.
Clamping
Push the clean milling cutter shaft A as far as
possible into the open collet 76.
Lock the cutter spindle 1 by pressing index bolt
58.
Tighten cap nut 77 by first turning it clockwise
by hand and afterwards by means of a flat
spanner size 19.
Unclamping
Lock the cutter spindle by pressing the index
bolt.
Use the flat spanner size 19 to unscrew the cap
nut by anticlockwise turning. Keep on turning
the cap nut until it once more encounters
resistance. When this resistance has been
overcome, the milling cutter can be removed
from the collet.
Never tighten the cap nut without
fitted tool as this may damage the
collet.
4.4 Collet change
(see Fig. 2)
Turn cap nut 77 from cutter spindle 1 to replace the
collet. The collet 76 hangs in the cap nut. You can
release the collet from the cap nut by forceful tilting
and pulling. Forceful pushing causes the collet to
engage audibly in the cap nut.
Before installing it, clean the cutter
spindle cone and the collet. Only
mount collets in the cutter spindle
that have engaged correctly in the
cap nut
5 Operation
5.1 Initial operation
Personnel entrusted to work with the machine must
be made aware of the operating instructions, calling
particular
attention
to
the
chapter
"Safety
instructions".
5.1.1
Switching on and off
(see Fig. 1)
Danger
Only switch on the machine if the
milling cutter has no contact with
the workpiece.
Short operation
Switching on:
Press switch 22a.
Switching off:
Release the switch.
Continuous operation
Switching on:
Press switch 22a and locking
button 22b consecutively. The motor runs
without pressure on the switch.
Switching off:
Press switch 22a until the
locking button disengages, then release the
switch.
5.2 Motor protection
Extreme overload during continuous operation leads
to an overheating of the motor. An electronic
temperature monitoring system has been built in as
overheating protection (blowing of the motor). Before
a critical motor temperature is reached, the electronic
safety system switches the motor off. After a cooling
period of approx. 3 – 5 minutes, the machine is once
more operational and can once more be run at full
load. When the machine is running (idling), the
cooling period is considerably reduced.
5.3 Speed adjustment
(see Fig. 1)
The router is equipped with an electronic speed
control. The milling cutter speed is continuously
variable between 10000 and 22000 rpm and can be
set with the setting wheel 37. The built-in electronic
system provides for jerk-free acceleration when the
machine is switched on and under load readjusts the
speed to the fixed setting.
