OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Before using the tools the operator must have read and understood this manual.
Installation
The user must has read and understood the present manual. Before start to use the tool, carefully check the technical characteristics table to be aware
of the performance and the limitations of the strapping tool you are going to use.
Pneumatic connection
Before connection to the pneumatic mains, ensure that the system provides dry filtered, and lubricated, air.
First connect the rapid pipe-fitting supplied with the tool to the compressed air clutch and then connect the compressed air pipe
(Pict. 1)
..
Never operate this tool using bottled air or gas source. Bottle air/gas source do not provide consistent operating pressure. Strap can break if inlet air
pressure to tool exceeds 7 bar.
Normal usage
ATTENTION! Never press the strap tension button without making sure the strap has been inserted into the machine.
If the machine is operated without the strap, the feedwheel and the bottom gripper may be damaged.
For the correct use of the strapping tool please follow this operational sequence:
a) Strap positioning
Wrap the strap around the package
(pict. 2)
.Hold the end with your left hand and pull the strap tight with your right hand.
b) Tool positioning
Squeeze the air motor and lever together to open the tool and pass both straps together into the tool release lever
( A )
and the strap guide will lower
and hold the straps parallel in the tool
(pict. 3)
c) Strap tension
Strap can break if inlet air pressure to tool exceeds 7 bar. Strap breakage can result un severe personal injury.
Press and immediately release lever
( B )
for strap stretching, which will automatically stretch until the end of the stroke
(pict. 4)
Should it be necessary to interrupt the operation during the stretching operation press the
( D )
STOP button.
d) Sealing and cutting strap
Push lever
( C )
to complete the sealing and cutting cycle
(pict. 5)
e) Machine unloading
When the tensioning sealing and cutting cycles have been completed squeeze lever
( A )
and turn the tools to the right to release the strap
(pict. 6)
.
Adjustment of strap width
The strapping tool may be used for different strap widths, by altering or replacing certain parts.
Unfasten the 3 screws M8 and the screw M10, now you can remove the foot
(pict. 13)
.
After having unfasted the screws you can change the strap guide blocks with a new one.
To reassembly the machine repeat the operations described in reverse order.
Adjustment of the slot depth (Pict. 7 - 8)
The depth of cut adjustment are made with an allen key of follows.
The slotting depth may be adjusted to suit various strap thicknesses.
By turning the screw in an anti-clockwise direction, the punches and the knife are lowered and the penetration and cut become deeper.
While in a clockwise direction they become less deep.
Adjustment of the pulling roller (Pict. 9)
The distance between the roller and the strap-blocking plate may be increased or reduced by means of the screw
( A )
indicated in pict.9.
By turning the screw in a clockwise direction, the distance is increased, while by turning it in an anti-clockwise direction, there is increased pressure of
the roller on the strap
Avoid any contact between feedwheel and the gripper.
