Sealing check
A regular inspection of the sealing is important. It is easy to check the sealing by comparing it to the illustrations below.
Sealing too shallow (Pict. 10)
This sealing is too shallow. The punch us not adjusted deep enough and the strap is not cut properly. Adjust immediately.
Penetration too deep (Pict. 11)
This sealing is not perfect either; the punch is adjusted too deep and the knife makes a mark on the lower strap. Adjust immediately
Correct sealing (Pict. 12)
This illustration shows a correct sealing example, in which the penetration is as deep as the strap thickness.
The strap has been cut properly without marks on the lower part.
If strapping tool is hanged to a balancer (lifting capacity 6 - 9 Kg) it must be used the adjustable support supplied with the machine (Pict. 14).
MAINTENANCE
ATTENTION! BEFORE ANY INTERVENTION ON THE MACHINE, FIRST DISCONNECT IT FROM THE COMPRESSED-AIR LINE.
According to working conditions and to usage load, you must provide for the following maintenance operations:
- Check and overhaul purification unit and compressed air filter, according to your supplier instructions.
- Check with particular attention that oil nebulizer is always in perfect conditions and that oil level in its container is maintained at an optimum level.
- Carefully clean by compressed air tender roll and sliding plate. It is always indispensable to wear safety glasses
- Carefully lubricate all moving parts of the sealing unit.
Push the opening handle
(Pict. 3) .
Remove any shavings or dirt from the pulling roller by compressed air. Wear protective goggles if you use compressed air!
Remove any shavings or dirt from the upper and lower matrix punch by compressed air. If these items are very dirty, use a cleaning fluid.
Do not permit the tool to be used in the presence of sand, water or similar substances. If this does happen, the tool must be dismantled and cleaned.
In such a case, we recommend returning the tool to your distributor for overhaul.
Substitution of cutting blade and matrix
To replace the cutter and the matrix block, unscrew the screws ( A ) and ( B ) (Pict. 13) , remove the foot, unscrew the fixing screws of the damaged part
and replay with new one. To reassembly the machine, repeat the operations described in reverse order.
Note: pay attention to straps-extractor because they can go out from their seats
GUARANTEE
General conditions of guarantee
Every machine supplied by our company, is guaranteed for a period of 12 months starting from the date of dispatch stated on the accompanying note.
During the whole guarantee period, our company will replace free of charge, all the parts proved to be defective by reason of faulty workmanship or
materials and which may compromise the normal machine usage. The decision of our service technicians on all the matters relating to complaints shall
be final. Any control of defects and their origin will be carried out in our workshop at the following address:

Parts to be repaired or replaced have to be forwarded to our address at care, charge and risk of the customer; the return forwarding will take place at
the same conditions. Our guarantee shall not cover appliances whenever our technicians should find that defects are due to lack of maintenance and/or
misuse. Our guarantee shall not apply to all parts subject to a normal usage wear.
COLUMBIA will not undertake any intervention on machines which lack a serial number engraved during manufacture and quoted on the sales
documentation provided.
