QoSfunctionscanbeimplementedthroughacombinationofprioritymode
settingsandprioritycontroloptions.TheXMS-1024supportspacketmappingby4
prioritylevels(low,normal,mediumandhigh)and3prioritysettingmodes:Typeof
Service(ToS)Priority,802.1PTagPriority,and802.1PDefaultPriority
QoS priority setting modes are in the following order from highest to
lowest:

ToSPriority:If“ToSPriority”isenabled,theswitchautomaticallyreadsan8-bit
ToStagfromtheIPv6/IPv4packet.Iftheprioritytagindicatesahighpriority,
thispacketismappedtohighpriorityforpriorityprocessing.Whentheswitch
becomesbusy,itprocessesthepacketsmarkedwithahighpriorityfirst.

802.1PTagPriority:If“802.1QTagPriority”isenabled,theswitchautomatically
readsa3-bitprioritytagfromthepacketwithavalidVLANtag.Ifthepriority
tagindicatesahighpriority,thepacketismappedtohighpriority.Whenthe
switchbecomesbusy,itprocessesthepacketsmarkedwithahighpriorityfirst.
