The fibre optic cable of the IGA 5-LO should be connected so that the arrow
markings on the brand label of the signal processor and those on the fibre
optic cable are facing each other.
At the IS 5-LO a special adjustment of the fibre to the converter is not neces-
sary.
Note:
The light guide end of the fibre optic cable as well as
the socket/connector and the optical head must al-
ways be protected with the caps when not connected!
Note:
The original fibre has a serial number which is also on the converter’s housing.
The system should
be re-calibrated if the fibre optic cable or the optical head are
exchanged (Service work)!

Minimum bending radius
:
momentary, localized (max. 50°C):
50 mm
long-term (max. 250°C):
120 mm
in coiled condition (max. 50°C):

Note:
A hot fibre optic cable should not be exposed to continual movement!

Controls and switches
The
controls/switches
are located under the rear cover of the pyrometer and can be accessed by removing
the rear cover. To remove the rear cover unscrew both rear screws and take the cover off, making sure it
remains straight (without bending or twisting it).
Caution:
Disconnect the cable before opening the cover.
When reassembling the cover, insert it carefully into the guide pin and then fasten it with the screws. After
that the connector cable can be plugged in!

offline
(DIP switch nr. 4)
Offline
(switch settings are valid):
When switched to the offline mode, the DIP
switches are used to set the values for
emissivity
(
ε
),
exposure time
(
t
90
) and the
current
output
(0 or 4 ... 20 mA). In the offline mode, these parameters can not be adjusted via
the digital interface - they can only be read! This function prevents incorrect set-up or
undesired changes via the interface. However, the other parameters can still be altered
via the interface (see
Software settings
).
Online
(computer-settings are valid
(factory setting)
):
When switched to the online
position, only the digital interface can be used to set the values for the parameters - the
DIP switch settings and the instrument’s controls are ignored. The device is initialised in
“online” mode.
