Lucent Technologies 1200A 24V ECS Battery Plant J85500E-2
2 - 6 Product Description
Issue 7 October 1998
The second panel type can accommodate 21 KS23616 circuit
breakers. Each bus bar in the panel is rated at 300 amperes in a
25°C ambient temperature. The unique plug-in panel and circuit
breaker design makes installation and growth a snap.
Circuit Breakers
Three circuit breakers are available for the distribution panels.
All circuit breakers have a mid-trip feature which will generate
an alarm after it has been tripped and not turned off.
•
The KS22010 circuit breaker has a current rating of 100
amperes.
•
The KS 220012 circuit breaker is rated at 225 amperes. This
breaker has a shunt monitor and can be equipped with a
capacitor pre-charge panel. Both these circuit breakers are
screw mounted.
•
The KS23616 circuit breaker is available in 3, 5, 10, 15, 20,
30, 45, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100 ampere ratings. These are
plug-in rather than screw-mounted breakers. The 60-, 70-,
80-, 90- and 100-ampere circuit breakers take up two
positions on the panel.
DC-DC
Converter System
The Lineage
®
2000 FPS series converters represent a significant
advancement in space utilization and ease of installation over
previously available products. A unique Bell Laboratories
design, which incorporates 100 kHz switching frequency,
advanced technology, and forced air cooling, has resulted in
converters which occupy minimal space. This 10-pound
(4.5-kilogram) switch mode converter design provides excellent
output regulation over a wide range of current loads and input
voltages. Figure 2-7 shows a 693AA dc/dc converter and Figure
2-8 shows an FPS converter plant.
The Lineage
®
2000 FPS dc/dc converter plant can be equipped
with up to six 693AA 10-ampere, 24- to -48-volt converters. FPS
series converters feature automatic load share circuits which
force the converters to share the plant load equally, thus reducing
the stress on individual converters. FPS converters are
self-protected. Short circuits and system overloads are handled
automatically; if the short circuit is removed or the system load
reduced, the converters automatically resume normal operation.
