System Requirements
The interface requires the dedicated use of an analog telephone line with DTMF dialing capability. The line
can be either a direct link to the phone company or through a local PBX that may require the dialing of an
outside line digit (typically 9). Once the line is established:
• Set the transmitter for the correct telephone dialing properties.
• Record the voice prompt.
• Set the WAP prompt.
• Connect the telephone line.
• Inform any staff members that may receive outside pages the meaning of any messages they
might receive.
Note:
if the line is not used for incoming calls, the additional jack on the keypad can be used to
connect a local telephone. Incoming calls will trigger the transmitter receiving circuit.
Telephone Dialing Properties
Dialing properties sets the number used by your telephone system to dial an outside line before dialing the
patron’s pager or telephone (e.g., dial 9 for an outside line). To set the dialing properties:
1. Press SETUP to enable the function menu.
2. Press F1 (More) until the unit shows 3: Phone Settings.
3. Press 3 to select the dialing Properties.
General Properties
1. From the Phone Settings menu, press 1: General to enable or disable the inbound or outbound
functions.
2. Press F1 (Program)
3. Select:
• 1: Access Number to select a number to use if the PBX requires a dial out number.
• 2: Direction to enable or disable inbound or outbound dialing.
• 3: Retention to retain (or not retain) the list of called numbers in the phone list. (Maximum of 100
numbers retained. Oldest numbers will be deleted automatically at full count and count will
restart at number 500.).
DTMF Properties
1. From the Phone Settings menu, Press 2: DTMF Setup to adjust the dialing properties to match the
phone system.
2. Select:
• 1: DTMF Sending adjust the timing (1: DTMF Pulses) and gain level (2: DTMF Level) to select a
number to use if the PBX requires a dial out number.
• 2: DTMF Receiving adjust the gain of incoming calls.
Voice Prompts
Voice prompts are the messages given to the patrons when paging their cell phones. To record a message
for the prompt:
1. Press SETUP to enable the function menu.
2. Press F1 (More) until the unit shows 1: Prgm Prompt.
3. Press F1 to Continue
4. Select Voice Prompt to record:
- Press 1 for Guest Call message.
