M03 – STEPS (n=number of the step STPn)
PARAMETER SETTINGS DESCRIPTION
P03.n.02 Static-485 The step number n connected to a DCTL thyristor module is commanded via RS485 bus from DCRG8F
M16 – COMMUNICATION (n= number of COM port associated to the EXP1012 module)
PARAMETER SETTINGS DESCRIPTION
P16.n.02 57600 bps Serial port speed
P16.n.03 8bit - n Data format
P16.n.04 1 Stop bit
P16.n.05 Modbus RTU Protocol
P16.n.09 Master The COM port number n of DCRG8F is dedicated for the command of DCTL thyristor modules via RS485 bus.
Requirements
– The DCRG8F controller must be equipped with the optional RS485 communication module code EXP1012.
– Each DCTL thyristor module must be equipped with the optional RS485 communication card code EXC1042.
To enable the control of DCTL thyristor modules via RS485 bus is necessary to configure on the DCRG8F the following parameters:
M01 – GENERAL
PARAMETER SETTINGS DESCRIPTION
P01.04 1-32 Step number (= serial node address)
In addition is necessary to set a different step number on every DCTL thyristor module, which must be equal to the step number set on the DRG8F regulator (e.g.: if I have configured on DCRG8F the step 3 as “Static-
485”, on the correspondent DCTL you must set P01.04=3):
The communication parameters of DCTL are fixed at speed =57600bps, data format=8bit-n, stop bit=1, protocol=Modbus RTU.
Note. In this configuration the EXP1012 mounted on the DCRG8F controller is dedicated for the command of DCTL thyristor modules. If necessary to connect the DCRG8F controller to a supervision system (e.g. a PC)
is necessary to add another communication expansion module, at choice between the codes compatible with DCRG8F.
IR PROGRAMMING PORT
– The DCRG8F parameters may be configured by means of the frontal optical port by means of the IR-USB type CX01 programming dongle or the IR-WiFi type CX02 dongle.
– This programming port has the following advantages:
• It allows DCRG8F configuration and maintenance without requiring access to the back of the device and consequently opening the electrical panel.
• It is galvanically isolated from the internal DCRG8F circuitry, guaranteeing the utmost safety for the operator.
• High speed data transfer.
• IP65 front panel protection degree.
• Limits the possibility of unauthorised access with device configation.
– Simply hold the CX… dongle in front of the panel and insert the pins on the relevant connectors; the devices will recognise each other as shown by the green colour of the LINK LED on the programming dongle.
